Luna cuddled her cat Pixel in bed. She missed her grandma who told bedtime stories from far away. One night, Luna’s mother placed a glowing tablet on the nightstand and opened it gently.
“Time for a story,” said her mother softly. Luna watched the screen where Grandma’s warm smile appeared. The tablet softly glowed as Grandma began to speak. “Let’s use our imagination,” said Grandma kindly.
Grandma told a short bedtime story about a cloud named Puffy who loved to play. Puffy floated down to a rainbow village where all the children were stars. Each star had a friend waiting on the ground, like bunny rabbits and friendly owls.
Luna closed her eyes and imagined herself as a little star. Pixel, as a tiny cloud kitten, floated next to her in the story. They played gently among singing flowers and dancing fireflies. Puffy the cloud sprinkled stardust on them, making the flowers sparkle.
They helped the star friend build a cozy fort of twinkling lights. The stars shared their gentle light with the moon and the rabbits in the meadow. Pixel purred softly as if he loved the story too.
At the end of the online story, Grandma whispered, “Goodnight, Luna.” Luna opened her eyes and saw Pixel curled up beside her. She yawned and hugged her tablet. Luna felt warm and safe as sleep filled her eyes.
Luna said softly, “Thank you for the story, Grandma.” Her mother kissed her head. Outside the window, crickets chirped a gentle lullaby as Luna drifted to sleep.
