Big Cat lived in a tall house.
Little Cat lived in a small one.
One sunny morning, Big Cat knocked on Little Cat’s door.
“Let’s play!” said Big Cat.
Little Cat smiled. “Yes! What shall we do?”

Big Cat thought.
Little Cat thought.
“I know,” said Big Cat. “Let’s paint!”
“Yes!” said Little Cat. “Let’s paint the sky!”
They got brushes.
They got paint.
They went outside.
Big Cat painted clouds—big, fluffy clouds.
Little Cat painted stars—tiny, twinkly stars.
Then Big Cat painted a moon—round and glowing.
Little Cat added a sun—bright and smiling.
They painted trees that danced.
They painted fish that flew.
“Look!” said Big Cat. “A pink elephant!”
“Wow!” said Little Cat. “Let’s add wings!”
They laughed.
They twirled.
They dipped their tails in paint.
Now the ground had pawprints—red, blue, yellow, green!
It was a rainbow trail.
When the sun began to sleep, Big Cat and Little Cat sat down.
“Our sky is full of dreams,” said Little Cat.
“And friendship,” said Big Cat.
They smiled at the sky.
They smiled at each other.
Then they purred, soft and happy.
It was a perfect day.
